The responsabilities of the Doctoral School Board include:
- determining policy for Ph.D. candidate selection;
- designating and disbursing finance, especially research funding;
- promoting a European and international dimension, especially by encouraging joint Ph.D. thesis supervision;
- ensuring that the Ph.D. thesis charter is respected;
- determining course programmes relevant to the Ph.D. student’s research proposals and career plan, as well as the necessary training programmes to ensure that a broad scientific culture will be acquired;
- determining the features of a support scheme enabling Ph.D. students to gain access to the workplace, and monitoring their ongoing professionalisation;
- activating cooperation operations with the industrial and socio-economic sectors to encourage the development of policies of innovation and the recruitment of Ph.D. graduates.
